Wellington v. Brisbane Roar – (1-4)
The Roar became the first side to beat Wellington at home in 25 matches, having been the last side to claim victory at the Cake Tin as Queensland Roar. The Roar completely dominated the match, with Barbarouses, Broich, Murdocca and Nichols getting the goals. Brown had drawn the sides level in the 37th minute before Broich put the Roar up 2-1 just before half-time. However, Roar always looked like taking the points however, and scored 2 in the last 25 minutes.
Perth v. Melbourne Heart – (0-0)
Perth and Heart shared the spoils midweek, with Ferguson keeping his promise and handing debut starting roles to Brent Griffiths, Fondyke and Amphlett. Robbie Fowler dropped to the bench. Heart probably had the better chances, but the Glory held on to stop their 7-game losing streak.
