Arsenal have completed the signing of Sevilla centre-back Sebastien Squillaci, though he won’t be available for their game against Blackburn. It is believed that AC Milan are negotiating with Barcelona for the sale of Ibrahimovich. The fee is reported to be around 30 mill with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar moving in the opposite direction. AC vice-president Adriano Galliano has said that if the deal falls through the club will pursue Man City’s Robinho. Moving onto the other half of Milan and there is a lot of talk about Inter’s Benitez signing players from his old club Liverpool. Kuyt is the latest man thought to be of interest to Inter, though Hodgson has been angered by such reports and has refused to be drawn on discussion about the Dutch international. One player Benitez may get his hands on, however, is Mascherano. With Barcelona struggling to meet Liverpool’s valuation it has been confirmed that Inter have made a bid for the fiery midfielder. Udinese captain and top scorer from the Serie A last season has surprisingly rejected a move to Juventus, while the Turin club’s playmaker Diego looks set for a return to Germany. The player only signed a 5-year deal after signing from Werder Bremen last season but failed to make a significant impact. He has now signed for four years at Wolfsburg.

It looks like Hatem ben Arfa will finally make his transfer to the Toon after a lengthy pursuit. It seems he will come on loan with 25 appearances activating an automatic transfer. The French International should bring a bit of creativity and excitement into the central midfield role.

Meanwhile Liverpool and Man City both progressed through to the Europa League Group Stages, however Villa crashed out losing 3-2 at home to Rapid Vienna.
